Hello people! Are you looking for a trip that combines amazing landscapes, delicious food with a cultural enriching activity?
Then you should not miss our next ESN trip to Camogli, a borgo on the Gulf of Paradise, on the Italian Riviera, in the Liguria region, known as “the city of a thousand white sailing ships”
The name comes after its marine fascinating history and connection with the remote island Tristan da Cuña.
Timetable:
On April 29 we’ll catch a train to Camogli in the morning, to enjoy a typical Ligurian breakfast with cappuccino and focaccia.
We will arrive on time to participate at the opening of the photographic exhibition “Here they fought!” (Si combatteva qui!) realised by Alessio Franconi, one of our ESN Volunteers. The exhibition is in the Dragon Castle, an ancient anti-pirate fortress that you can visit only on special occasions like this one admiring the amazing view on the Gulf.
The exhibition displays a series of photographs Alessio took across multiple years retracing the battlefields of the Liberation of Italy. A journey that starts with the places of the landing in Sicily, this year is the 80th anniversary, till the North of Italy.
After the visit, we’ll have a tour of the town, where we’ll be able to admire the typically Ligurian facades painted with warm colour and decorated with trompe l’oeil effects (if this mix of words means nothing to you now, they’ll make sense once you’ll be there).
We'll have a traditional lunch and then spend the rest of the afternoon enjoying our dolce vita by the sea.
